Yesterday, during Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft revealed the next chapter in its classic city-building franchise, Anno 117: Pax Romana, which will be released in 2025 for PC and consoles.
Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, the studio behind Anno 1800, Anno 117: Pax Romana promises to take players to the height of the Roman Empire. Players must follow their destiny to shape the Roman Empire in the year 117 A.D. As emperor, will you encourage economic growth or expand your rule through force? Will you lead a rebellion or create a diverse culture? You decide how much peace is worth. You are a Roman emperor in the year 117 AD.

Anno 117: Pax Romana also marks the beginning of a new era for the Anno franchise, as it is the first title that will bring the brand a new visual identity. According to the creators, this allowed them to infuse humor and fun into the franchise.
Players will be given the powerful yet challenging role of Governor to ensure the economic growth and prosperity of their provinces. To achieve their goals, they will have to decide how to balance their role as enforcers of Roman law while also responding to the needs of their local citizens.
For the first time in Anno, players will be able to choose their starting province. Or the Celtic wetlands of Albion, a land full of mysteries where no civilized Roman wants to be, or the traditional Roman heartland, Latium, close to the hungry heart of the Empire. Each of these provinces will offer a different set of challenges.
